The goal with this project is to develop and integrate electronics into an conveyor belt roller for maintenance purposes; as well as developing an efficient production method for the roller with integrated electronics.
A typically roller can operate for up to ten years and spins at least 1 000 000 000 times during its lifecycle.

The project is ended and fully functional rollers are installed at LKAB in Narvikand Boliden in Aitik. A continuing project ECO Extended Converyor belt systemis planned with a request to PiiA about financing.
